WP10: MI - Patient to Population
The Working Group Medical Imaging- Patient to Population will define the construction plan for a research infrastructure for coordination of activities on medical imaging from patient to population. The aims of the future infrastructure are (a) to develop a long-term, strategic vision of the role of imaging platforms for clinical research; (b) to provide solutions for collaboration in Medical Imaging maximizing the opportunities for implementation of new diagnostic and interventional procedures; (c) to develop evidence based validation of novel procedures for clinical applications.
The objectives of this WG are
- To survey existing European infrastructure for coordination and harmonization of imaging platforms in clinical trials and health technology assessment for imaging methods (HTA)
- To identify the needs of the scientific community with regard to access to these infrastructures
- To survey existing European infrastructure for population-based-imaging and minimally invasive image guided interventions
- To identify the needs of the scientific community with regard to access to pan-European infrastructures for population-based-imaging and minimally invasive image guided intervention
- To identify new emerging Medical Imaging developments, which may be considered for inclusion into the forward planning of the Euro-BioImaging infrastructure.
- To determine the bottlenecks for providing access to Medical Imaging infrastructures.
- To explore the feasibility of providing access to the identified infrastructures by proof-of-concept studies.
- To develop a comprehensive, long-term plan for the implementation of European access to Medical Imaging infrastructures.
