Advanced fluorescence imaging techniques

The "Advanced fluorescence imaging techniques" course takes place from May 17-22, 2026 at EMBL Heidelberg. It is a practical course, including lectures and hands-on practicals, and will cover advanced light microscopy techniques.

Participants will learn how to derive qualitative and quantitative insights into molecular mechanisms in cells, tissues and developing organisms. Guest researchers, together with microscopy experts from EMBL, will foster an intensive exchange of information through a balance of lectures and practical workshops. The focus of the course will be on the use of fluorescence microscopy to obtain information about the localisation and functions of proteins and other biomolecules at different spatial scales.
