Abstract

This talk will introduce the newly established Laboratory of Intravital Imaging, which operates in an open-access format at the Institute of Experimental Medicine CAS in Prague. Advanced intravital multi-photon microscopy enables longitudinal imaging at subcellular resolution within a physiological environment. It bridges the gap between standard light microscopy and preclinical imaging, which relies on larger-scale imaging methods such as MRI or PET. However, access to intravital imaging remains limited for many research groups, as the method requires extensive support from specialized staff, robust technical infrastructure, expensive equipment and animal housing and welfare services.

Our mission is to overcome these barriers by providing all necessary services and equipment within a dedicated core facility. In this talk, we will present the practical and organizational solutions implemented to address these requirements, with a focus on how the facility was designed to support intravital imaging in a sustainable and accessible manner.
