In the next instalment of the Tech Exchange, Asif Khan from Molecular Machines & Industries will present on "Finding “The One”: How microdissection and cell picking uncovers the hidden world of single cells".

Abstract

Cells are interesting to study, as they retain valuable information.

To this end, Spatial Biology currently leads the forefront in revealing the precise cellular architecture of tissues in situ. For example, by concurrently maximizing plexity and resolution, Spatial Omics derive a cell’s biomarker co-expression profile and how they organize and interact to influence the tissue microenvironment.

A deciding factor for such a Spatial Biology study is the need for coherency between spatial and molecular information.
High Resolution Imaging combined with Laser Capture Microdissection (LCM) can convey this coherency, employing microscopy to identify and select cells of interest.
In this presentation, we showcase how MMI ‘s Cell Cut Laser Microdissection platform provides fully auditable workflow for Single Cell Biology. We show how our patented CapSure, CapLift and Predefined Target Positioning (PTP) feature allows high sample integrity and controlled collection of individual cells to maximize the number of samples collected for downstream applications.

Finally, we show our systems’ versatility and how MMI MultiSlide and MMI’s High throughput CellRobot System enables fast processing of multiple samples in a single run or multiple regions within a single sample, allowing comprehensive analysis of tissue for cellular heterogeneity.
