Join us on 20th September at 14:00h CEST for the next episode of the TechExchange with Mr. Atsushi Sekiya, Ph.D, from Funakoshi Co., Ltd., who will present on "Fluorescent Imaging Dye for Sensing Membrane Microenvironments".

Abstract:

Since cellular membranes including both plasma membranes and endomembranes are composed of wide varieties of lipids, cellular membranes are considered to have very heterogenous structures in the cell. In this seminar, we focus on the membrane heterogenous structure, hereafter called “membrane microenvironments”, and introduce a novel fluorescent imaging tool to monitor membrane microenvironments under live cell condition.

Our fluorescent dye LipiORDER^TM recognizes Lo/Ld states, a physical parameter of membrane microenvironments, and emits different colors, from green to red. The Green/Red ratiometric imaging with the dye accomplishes dynamic and quantitative sensing of membrane microenvironments. Furthermore, we will also show an advanced application using a related technology “HistoBright^TM” to clear and bright 3D tissue imaging only with a single fluorescent dye.
