Could combining novel imaging technologies help you answer a research question—or develop a new workflow at your facility? The IMAGINE Open Call: Imaging Across Scales offers funded access to next-generation technologies, with opportunities of interest to Euro-BioImaging Node staff and researchers across our community.
Projects must combine two or three complementary approaches from X-ray imaging, electron microscopy, super-resolution microscopy, intravital microscopy, marine imaging, and data management and AI, to address a defined research question requiring imaging across scales. At least three projects will receive support, with up to €10,000 per project for facility access, plus up to €500 for associated travel, accommodation or shipping costs.
For Node staff interested in testing emerging technologies, this could be an opportunity to explore integrated workflows and compare results with established techniques in the context of a research project. For researchers, it offers a chance to design experiments that bring complementary methods together to investigate biological structure and function. Selected teams will also help refine these new services by providing validation results, structured feedback and a short final report.
The call welcomes external research teams at any career stage. Applicants must be ready to begin access immediately following selection—for example, with samples already prepared—and complete their projects by the end of 2027.
