Data Steward Expert Group

Growing a network for effective bioimage data stewardship

Data stewards carry out a range of critical tasks in managing research data—many of which are also performed by other staff who may not formally carry the title of data steward. These tasks often overlap with roles such as data managers, researchers, facility staff, and bioinformaticians.

Do you ...

... manage or organize bioimaging data?

... coordinate between researchers, IT, and repositories?

... support data curation and deposition?

... capture, improve or standardize metadata?

... harmonize data across groups or facilities?

... provide data management advice or train others on good data practices?

If you answered 'yes' to any of these —no matter your official title— you are a data steward and we want you on our Data Steward Expert Group! Our group welcomes everyone across Euro-BioImaging Nodes and associated projects who are involved in data stewardship, data management, or related roles supporting bioimage data quality, sharing, and reuse. If you are interested in advancing bioimage data stewardship and want to help empower the imaging community through FAIR data practices, you are encouraged to get involved.
