Austrian BioImaging celebrates its 11th anniversary

Published May 22, 2026

On 11 May 2026, Austrian BioImaging/CMI celebrated its 11th anniversary with a special event at the SkyLounge of the University of Vienna, bringing together members of the Austrian and European imaging communities to reflect on more than a decade of achievements in biological and biomedical imaging. Euro-BioImaging had the pleasure of attending, represented by its Directorate: John Eriksson, Antje Keppler, and Linda Chaabane. This inspiring event demonstrated the impact of being part of Euro-BioImaging in advancing research and creating connections within the imaging community.

Since its foundation in 2015, Austrian BioImaging has grown into a leading nation-wide imaging infrastructure, joining Euro-BioImaging as the Austrian Node in 2021. The anniversary event welcomed shareholders, ministry representatives, Euro-BioImaging Directors, and partners from across Austria’s scientific ecosystem. Hosted by Austrian BioImaging Directors Baubak Bajoghli and Wolfgang Weninger, the programme featured keynote presentations, scientific showcases, and discussions highlighting the impact of open-access imaging infrastructures on research and innovation.
