Euro-BioImaging at the German Biotechnology Days 2025
The Euro-BioImaging Bio-Hub team represented Euro-BioImaging with a booth at the German Biotechnology Days 2025, which took place on 9th and 10th April 2025 in Heidelberg.
This event is recognized as the premier national forum for the German and international biotechnology industry, bringing together over 1.000 entrepreneurs, scientists, investors, policymakers, and funding institutions for two days of intensive exchange and networking.
18 symposia, additional sessions over lunch and coffee and dedicated networking sessions allowed for plentiful exchange with start-ups, SMEs, incubators and umbrella organizations like bioRN Life Science Cluster BioLabs Heidelberg Mannheim Medical Technology Cluster Swiss Biotech Association Biosaxony e.V BioM.
Our booth was in an excellent location next to our future collaborators BIMOVIS and second stop en route for the Heidelberg mayor Prof. Dr. Eckart Würzner, who stepped by to learn how Euro-BioImaging connects imaging experts across Europe and supports start-ups and SMEs, with the EMBL Node just one of 240 excellent facilities.
Besides inspiring and insightful keynotes from Kerstin Göpfrich, ZMBH, and Jens Holstein, BioNTech, the sessions showcased the finalist of the Innovation Prize of German BioRegions and “New Kids on the Block” with their innovations in Health, Food, Biomaterials, AI and more.
Imaging comes in at different points over the life cycle of development and Euro-BioImaging, being research topic agnostic, can support with many specific imaging services:
- Single particle cryo EM or X-ray for characterization of biologicals, resolution of ligand target interaction or structure determination of antibody-drug conjugates
- Mass Spec Imaging for tissue distribution of biomarkers or drug distribution in proof-of-concept studies
- Imaging-based HCS of organoids and complex tumour models
- Characterization of physical properties of biomaterials such as biopolymers with AFM, EM or spectroscopic methods
- Super resolution microscopy for target localization
- Preclinical and clinical imaging for e.g. tumour targeting, drug efficacy, post-implantation monitoring for prosthetics or tissue regeneration.
We are looking forward to exploring all the new connections and are happy to have been part of this event!
