The Imachen ENS Core Facility at Institute of Biology of Ecole Normale Superieur of Paris, part of Euro-BioImaging’s France-BioImaging Node is pleased to host Wiame Aissoug from the CRBT Constantine in Algeria as part of the Imaging 4 All (i4A) Pro Track funding programme – a global initiative supporting scientific mobility for researchers and imaging scientists based in low- and middle-income countries. The programme is funded by the Wellcome Trust (UK) and coordinated by Global BioImaging at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), Heidelberg.
Imaging 4 All addresses key barriers to accessing cutting-edge imaging technologies by offering financial support and scientific guidance. The programme enables participants to conduct experimental research using imaging technologies and/or strengthen their imaging skills at leading imaging facilities and laboratories across the globe.
Joining the Imaging 4 All programme marks an exciting step in my scientific journey, offering a remarkable opportunity for exchange and capacity building, and I am proud to be part of it.
-- Waime Aissoug, CRBT Constantine, Algeria
As part of this initiative, Wiame AISSOUG will spend several months with Samira Benadda at Imachem ENS, where she will receive training on management of imaging facilities as well as hands on training on specialised microscopy (Expansion Microscopy, TIRF, confocal, spinning disk, Live cell imaging), image analysis, as well as sample preparation.
“Global BioImaging offers us a fantastic opportunity to exchange knowledge and strengthen global scientific communities. For us, the Imaging 4 All grant allows us to host Wiame and share our expertise with her, while also benefiting from her expertise. Her stay in our core facility strengthens thus our relationships between our two institutions and also fosters exchanges between France BioImaging and Africa,” said Samira, who was actively involved in the application process.
“Joining the Imaging4All programme marks an exciting step in my scientific journey, offering a remarkable opportunity for exchange and capacity building, and I am proud to be part of it.Imaging4All allows me to strengthen my expertise in advanced light microscopy and imaging facility management while being surrounded by the incredible Imachem IBENS team. Working daily with a multidisciplinary group that develops state-of-the-art imaging technologies is inspiring and immensely enriching. I am eager to bring this knowledge back to advance research and innovation in Algeria and to foster long-term collaborations between France-BioImaging, Global Bioimaging and our expanding imaging platform,” said Wiame.
By fostering direct collaboration and practical training, the Imaging 4 All programme seeks to promote research capacity development in under-resourced regions, and to create lasting global partnerships in imaging science.
