Early career professionals working in imaging core facilities will soon have the opportunity to strengthen essential skills beyond the technical bench. A new course, Communication and Management Skills within a Core Imaging Facility, will take place at the MBC2, University of Turin, from 20 to 22 October 2026.
Euro-BioImaging Nodes and their staff frequently face challenges that extend beyond scientific and technical expertise. From managing user expectations to leading collaborative projects, success increasingly depends on strong transversal competencies.
This course has been specifically designed to support early career core facility staff by accelerating the development of critical soft skills needed for effective facility management, user engagement, and leadership in collaborative scientific environments.
Participants will develop competencies in:
Proactive and effective communication
Conflict prevention and resolution
Time and priority management
Managing collaborations and consortia
Marketing and branding for imaging facilities
Professional service provision and user interaction
Communicating with users as well as conveying impact to broader stakeholders
In addition to the training programme, selected participants will benefit from travel and accommodation support provided through the EVOLVE Project, helping to ensure accessibility for a diverse group of attendees from Euro-BioImaging Nodes.
Please keep in mind that the course participation is open only for Core Facility Staff working at Euro-BioImaging Nodes.
