Funding opportunities for multimodal imaging projects

Published December 16, 2021

Correlated multimodality imaging (CMI) has huge potential in biological and biomedical research. COMULIS - Correlated Multimodal Imaging in Life Sciences is an EU-funded COST Action which aims to fuel urgently needed collaborations to make CMI a more standard practice. COMULIS is pleased to announce four open calls in December 2021 to support research and dissemination in the field of correlated imaging. As many Euro-BioImaging Nodes are part of the COMULIS network, offering comprehensive multimodal imaging project support, these grants can be used to support access to Euro-BioImaging Nodes. These opportunities will be available throughout 2022, and applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis. Have a look at these opportunities, and apply for funding today!

• Short Term Scientific Missions: https://www.comulis.eu/stsm-open-call
Early Career Investigators (ECI) and and Experienced Image Scientists, from Research Labs, Core facilities or Industry, can apply for funds to cover their expenses when visiting a Host Lab in a different country (Lab or industry) where they will perform a short scientific project strictly focused on Correlative Multimodal projects, and that should enable: 1) collaborations on innovative CMI methods, 2) access to CMI technology and/or image analysis tools for scientists lacking them locally, 3) knowledge transfers to support careers and regional development.

• Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITC) Conference Grant: https://www.comulis.eu/conference-grant-open-call
We can support Early Career Investigators from ITC countries (Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Montenegro, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Turkey and fYR Macedonia) with travel grants to visit conferences on (multimodal) bioimaging & image analysis.

• Virtual Mobility (VM) Grant: https://www.comulis.eu/virtualmobilitygrant
These grants aim at strengthening the existing networks by allowing scientists to foster collaboration in a virtual setting, to exchange knowledge, learn new techniques, disseminate the Action results, etc.

• Dissemination Conference Grant: https://www.comulis.eu/dissemination-conference-grant
Applicants can receive financial support for increasing visibility of the Action in the research community, attract additional participants and stakeholders and disseminate Action results to relevant end-users at high profile conferences in the field on a topic relevant to the Action.
