Brain evolution in continental and insular mammals
The origin and evolution of insular large mammals is key to understanding broader mammalian adaptations and selective processes, offering valuable insights relevant to other…
On September 13, 2024, Euro-BioImaging hosts the Cancer Metabolism Series in collaboration with the International Society of Cancer Metabolism (ISCaM). This series of lectures takes place once a month during the Virtual Pub, bringing together speakers from the cancer metabolism field with imaging experts from the Euro-BioImaging network, for exchange with enthusiasts from the biological & biomedical imaging fields in the Virtual Pub audience. Our speakers on Friday, September 13 are Anna Tosi and Serena Zilio, Veneto Institute of Oncology, IOV-IRCCS, on "Multiparametric Imaging in Cancer Research: Technical Approaches and Applications."

Multiparametric imaging techniques have revolutionized our ability to study the complex interactions within the tumor microenvironment, particularly in the fields of immunology. This seminar will examine advanced staining methodologies that employ multiple antibodies to simultaneously visualize immune cell phenotypes and tumor heterogeneity. The objective is to gain insight into the intricate cell interactions that occur within the tumor microenvironment. This presentation aims to elucidate the benefits of these high-dimensional techniques, including enhanced spatial resolution and deeper insights into cellular dynamics, while also addressing the challenges posed by data complexity and technical optimization. Finally, the discussion will focus on the critical role of bioinformatics in analyzing these large datasets and how the integration of multiparametric imaging with in situ transcriptomics, offers a promising frontier for advancing cancer research. Together, these approaches pave the way for a more comprehensive understanding of tumor biology, potentially leading to novel therapeutic strategies.
