Abstract

In today’s rapidly evolving innovation landscape, research institutions can face a critical decision: should they transfer their technology to external partners or develop and commercialise it internally? An internal approach can maximise financial returns and visibility of the facility concerned, but involves manufacture of the products in-house with the risks and effort that this requires. This presentation will be a rapid perspective on the pros and cons of bypassing traditional technology transfer and adopting an in-house development and commercialization approach, leveraging facility expertise and resources to directly bring products to market.
