FUND-RI
FUND-RI aims to develop evidence-based policy recommendations for research infrastructure funding strategies enabling long-term financial sustainability of European research infrastructures.
Research Infrastructures are essential to Europe’s scientific excellence, technological capacity, industrial innovation, and policy delivery. However, the funding landscape for Research Infrastructures is often complex and fragmented. This can affect sustainability, access, investment planning, and the capacity of Research Infrastructures to respond to evolving European priorities.
FUND-RI aims to address this challenge by supplying European RI funding policy with evidence-based and stakeholder validated RI funding strategies recommendations. , To achieve its aim, the project will engage in case studies, and evidence-based analysis, involving a wide range of stakeholders. The project focuses on what works, under which conditions, and for whom, with the aim of supporting funders, RI managers, policy actors, and strategic decision-makers.
Euro-BioImaging’s role is to lead stakeholder validation of project’s findings, ensuring they are anchored in stakeholder needs, validated by key actors, and optimised for uptake for policy makers for a long-term sustainable RI funding strategy setting the foundation of a bright future for European science.
FUND-RI, Access2Access, and COORDINA-INNOV were launched as complementary Horizon Europe initiatives addressing different but connected dimensions of Europe’s Research and Technology Infrastructure ecosystem. Together, they contribute to a shared discussion on how Europe can make its infrastructures more sustainable, accessible, collaborative, and resilient.
This project received funding from the European Union under Grant Agreement Number 101292880.
