Euro-BioImaging at the European Galaxy Days 2025

Published October 13, 2025

Euro-BioImaging was excited to participate in the European Galaxy Days 2025 in Freiburg, 1–3 October. We shared updates from our FAIR Image Data Workflows Expert Group and the OSCARS-FIESTA project.

During the event, we presented the Expert Group’s activities, which bring together motivated community members to share workflows, address bottlenecks, and promote the use of FAIR workflows in imaging.

We also highlighted OSCARS FIESTA, a cross-disciplinary project aiming to build reusable image analysis workflows in Galaxy across life sciences, astronomy, and environmental sciences. The project focuses on FAIRifying tools and workflows, enabling knowledge transfer between communities, and building capacity through tutorials, workshops, and open resources.

Euro-BioImaging is also represented as a Special Interest Group (SIG) at the Galaxy Community Board (GCB), where we discuss common pain points and share resources between scientific communities, crucial for cross-disciplinary collaboration and avoiding duplicated effort.

As always, it was fantastic to connect with Galaxy community members, exchange ideas, and explore new collaborations for FAIR and scalable image analysis.
