Euro-BioImaging has officially kicked off the second edition of the EVOLVE Mentoring Programme, welcoming 17 mentoring pairs from 16 countries and 4 companies across the international imaging community.
The Kick-Off Meeting marked the beginning of a six-month structured mentoring journey focused on career development, data management, leadership skills, and technology-specific expertise within imaging core facilities.
Building Relationships Across the Imaging Community
The EVOLVE Mentoring Programme is part of the Euro-BioImaging Training Programme for Node Staff and is designed to strengthen peer-to-peer learning across the infrastructure. Beyond knowledge exchange, the programme fosters inspiration, support, and long-lasting professional relationships.
During the Kick-Off Meeting, participants reflected on the qualities of effective mentors and mentees, aligning on shared expectations and defining concrete goals for the months ahead.
Key lessons learned from previous cohorts were also shared with the new participants:
Establish clear communication channels
Foster an open and supportive environment
Promote self-reflection rather than giving ready-made answers
Be adaptable and provide constructive feedback
Celebrate achievements, no matter how small
At its core, mentoring is about learning from someone who genuinely wants you to grow.
By investing in mentoring, Euro-BioImaging continues to strengthen not only technical excellence, but also leadership capacity, career sustainability, and cross-border collaboration, reinforcing the human foundation of a resilient European research infrastructure.
